Cambia Health Foundation today announced $1.2 million in grants distributed to organizations working to improve health outcomes across Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington. The funding prioritizes programs that take a whole-person health approach, addressing the inseparable physical, behavioral and social factors that contribute to overall well-being.

Kinship families, sometimes referred to as grandfamilies, are families where grandparents, other relatives or close family friends are raising children whose parents are unable to do so. Today, Cambia Health Foundation announced nearly $280,000 in grant funding to support the health and well-being of older adults serving as primary caregivers in grandfamilies. This initiative addresses a critical but often overlooked demographic facing unique health challenges while raising relatives' children.

Cambia Health Foundation released its annual Community Impact Report, spotlighting the reach of its philanthropic investments in grantees, nonprofit community partners and the generosity of Cambia employees supported through its employee giving programs. Now in year three of its five-year strategic plan, the Foundation continues to increase behavioral health access across Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington, partnering with local organizations to build healthier, more resilient communities. The report outlines the Foundation’s progress in 2024, highlighting efforts in grantmaking, partner convenings and employee giving.

As the need for mental health care continues to rise, there are not enough providers to meet the growing demand. In response, Cambia Health Foundation invested an additional $500,000 in community partners to relieve the strain on the region’s health care workforce. This funding marks more than $1.5 million invested in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington since 2022 and is part of a larger vision to advance equity through whole-person health.

Cambia Health Foundation has announced the selection of 12 emerging palliative care leaders for its Sojourns® Scholar Leadership Program, marking the 10th and final group of Scholars to receive funding. Established in 2014, the program advances the next generation of palliative care leaders with a goal of increasing palliative care access, awareness and quality across the nation.
